CAF Opens Bidding for AFCON 2027 Broadcast Rights

Rabat – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has opened a bidding process for the broadcast rights to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, known as “Pamoja 2027.”

The tender covers free-to-air television and pay-TV broadcasting rights across Sub-Saharan Africa. The rights will be available in several languages, including English, Swahili, Portuguese, isiZulu, Wolof, Yoruba, and other local languages.

For the 2027 edition, French-language pay-TV rights are excluded from the tender.

Interested broadcasters and media companies have until September 14, 2026, at 5 p.m. Cairo time to submit their bids.

The 2027 AFCON will be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027. The tournament will mark the first time the three East African countries jointly host the continent’s flagship men’s football competition.

CAF’s tender is expected to attract interest from broadcasters seeking rights to one of Africa’s biggest sporting events, with millions of fans expected to follow the tournament across the continent.

The bidding process is part of CAF’s preparations for the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, as the governing body looks to secure broad television coverage across Sub-Saharan Africa.
